Keynote +

The unique multi-keyboard project Keynote + (Kate Ryder/Jane Chapman) explores the interface between early and modern instruments and cutting edge new music, and examines the fascinating sound world and subtle sonorities of prepared piano, harpsichord, clavichord, and miniature instruments with visual imagery and sound installations

Keynote + gave a sellout concert in 2006 for the prestigious BMIC Cutting Edge concert series in London, performing ten premieres from a broad spectrum of some of today's most creative transatlantic musical voices, to critical & audience acclaim. They were invited to be artists in residence at Berkeley University, California in April 2007, giving concerts and seminars representing British music, and commissioning new works from young American composers.

As experienced lecturers, they are committed to working with young composers here in the UK and abroad and were recently invited by the Royal Academy of Music and Oxford Brookes University to give seminars and workshops performing new work by student composers. Currently artists in residence at Goldsmiths College, University of London, they have an ongoing program of education work and performances, and are developing similar projects in the US and elsewhere.
