Born in Sydney, based in London, Kate's wide ranging international experience as a pianist encompasses solo work & collaborations with leading ensembles in dance, film, live electronics and theatre where she has established herself as a versatile and engaging performer. She has had many works created for her.
Kate has a particular love of the prepared piano, John Cage’s invention from the 1940’s, performing, recording and giving workshops on this uniqueinstrument since her student days. Among her many other collaborations, she has created keynote + with harpsichordist Jane Chapman, a unique ensemble combining early and modern keyboards with electronics and visual imagery.
